Project Description

We are currently working on Phase 3 of the Grantham Bypass scheme for Galliford Try.

The final phase of the relief road will link the A52 at Somerby Hill to the B1174, crossing the Witham Valley, River Witham and East Coast railway line over a new viaduct. When opened, the whole Grantham Southern Relief Road will stretch for 3.5km, linking the A52 at Somerby Hill to the A1.

As part of our early contractor involvement, we have been able to develop value-engineered solutions to minimise the volume of material required for processing. These strategies involved constructing the initial embankment core out of the upper-class 2C material along with alterations to the embankment specification for the proposed ‘allotment’ location meaning unprocessed material could be engineered as general fill material.
