Workshop & Mobile Plant Fitter

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Workshop & Mobile Plant Fitter to join our plant maintenance team. The role will involve carrying out servicing, repairs and breakdowns both within the workshop and on site, ensuring plant and equipment are maintained to a high standard and kept operational.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs to plant and machinery in line with manufacturer specifications.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs on a wide range of plant equipment.
  • Attend breakdowns on site and complete mobile repair work as required.
  • Complete workshop-based maintenance and repair tasks when not working on site.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company health & safety procedures.
  • Complete job cards, service reports and maintenance records accurately.
  • Work closely with the Workshop Manager, Assistant Manager and Parts Team to ensure correct parts are identified and used.
  • Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicles in good working order.
  • Support colleagues and contribute to a positive and efficient workshop environment.

Requirements:

  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Experience:

Certified Drone Operator

Due to continued growth, Collins Earthworks are looking for a full-time drone operator to join the engineering team. The role will require the applicant to travel between our sites throughout the UK.

Collins provide earthmoving solutions to the construction industry, working nationwide. Collins specialise in Earthworks, Ground Stabilisation, Demolition, Surveying and Engineering.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Undertake photogrammetry surveys with use of UAVs throughout the UK
  • Comply and undertake the procedures set-out in the Operations Manual 
  • Write RAMs for each site
  • Liaise with clients to gain flight approval
  • Establishing and coordinating Ground Control Points
  • Uploading images for processing
  • Reviewing processing reports
  • Use of the Propeller platform to merge datasets and undertake measurements

Experience:

Demolition HSEQ Manager

We are seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to join our established demolition team. Working alongside our HSEQ Technician and reporting directly to the HSEQ Director, this is a key role responsible for managing health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across multiple demolition projects.

The successful candidate will oversee site audits, plans of work, accident and incident investigations, and ensure compliance with company procedures, ISO management systems, and statutory regulations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional to make a real impact within a growing business.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coordinate, and monitor HSEQ performance across demolition sites.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits, ensuring compliance with legislation and company standards.

HGV & Trailer Technician

Due to continued growth within our transport division, we’re recruiting additional experienced HGV technicians to join the teams at our Ripley and Kirkby workshops.

We operate a modern fleet of premium Volvo Trucks on a wide range of applications which support our construction business.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Completing OLI Inspection and completion of legal supporting paperwork.
  • MOT preparation and presentation of classes 2 and 1 vehicles.
  • Utilise computer-based diagnostic equipment for vehicle diagnosis.
  • Focus on quality first-time on time repairs.
  • Attend vehicle breakdowns / onsite repairs and servicing as and when required.

Requirements:

  • In this role you should be able to perform physically demanding tasks.

  • Experience is essential for this position, working on modern heavy commercial vehicles and trailers, knowledge in electrics and hydraulics is advantageous.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Site Manager and wider site team with all administrative and documentation tasks to ensure the smooth running of demolition projects.
  • Manage and maintain site paperwork, including daily records, timesheets, delivery notes, risk assessments, and site diaries.
  • Liaise with the Head Office to ensure timely submission of timesheets, material orders, and plant hire records.

CCDO Labourer

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist Site Managers and Supervisors with the safe and efficient running of demolition projects.
  • Carry out general labouring duties on site including clearing rubble, moving materials, and maintaining tidy and organised work areas.
  • Support in the safe stripping-out of buildings prior to demolition.
  • Segregate and load waste materials in line with environmental and recycling procedures.
  • Erect and dismantle temporary barriers, fencing, and signage as required.

Carbon Reduction Manager

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our efforts in measuring, managing, and reducing carbon emissions across all construction activities. This role is pivotal in embedding sustainable practices into project delivery, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving innovation in low-carbon solutions. Through data-led strategies, cross-team collaboration, and industry insights, the postholder will help shape our path toward a net-zero future.

Main Duties & Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Develop and implement methodologies for measuring carbon emissions across construction projects, including embodied carbon in materials and operational emissions
  • Conduct life cycle assessments (LCAs) for construction materials and processes
  • Identify opportunities for emissions reduction and develop practical implementation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with UK carbon reporting requirements including SECR (Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting) and future regulations
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate low-carbon solutions into design and construction processes
  • Evaluate and recommend sustainable materials and construction techniques
  • Prepare carbon reports and disclosures for internal and external stakeholders
  • Stay current with evolving carbon reduction technologies, methodologies, and regulations in the construction sector

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in carbon management, preferably within the construction or built environment sector
  • Proven experience with carbon accounting methodologies and greenhouse gas (GHG) protocols
  • Working knowledge of UK building regulations, specifically Part L and emerging Future Homes/Buildings Standards
  • Experience with environmental certification schemes (BREEAM, LEED, etc.)
  • Understanding of PAS 2080 (Carbon Management in Infrastructure)
  • Experience preparing SECR reports and/or TCFD disclosures
  • Knowledge of Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) methodologies is advantageous

Experience STGO Category 3 Low Loader Driver

We are looking for a skilled and reliable STGO Category 3 Low Loader Driver to join our established transport team. The successful candidate will have proven experience in handling abnormal loads, with strong route planning and problem-solving abilities, and will demonstrate a professional attitude when representing the company both on the road and on-site.

Main Duties & Responsibilities (but not limited to): 

  • Operate STGO Category 3 articulated units with a range of specialised trailers, including beam trailers, interdollys and jeep dollys for the movement of large abnormal loads up to 140 tons
  • Transport heavy plant and machinery, including large dozers, compactors, excavators and reach stackers, often exceeding 70 tonnes in weight
  • Understand abnormal load notifications and be able to follow preplanned routes in accordance with STGO and abnormal load regulations, including liaising with private and police escorts where required
  • Conduct safe and efficient loading and unloading of plant and equipment using appropriate loading methods and ensuring loads are secure for transport
  • Liaise with site teams, and clients to ensure safe access, egress, and load positioning on-site
  • Carry out vehicle checks, trailer inspections, and ensure compliance with DVSA regulations and company policies
  • Ensure accurate completion of all delivery paperwork and tachograph records.
  • Maintain a high standard of vehicle cleanliness, presentation, and operational readiness

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating STGO CAT 3 low loader vehicles
  • Proven experience working with abnormal loads exceeding 70 tonnes
  • Competence in handling large construction plant for loading and securing
  • Full UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence with valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
  • Understanding of STGO regulations, abnormal load movements, and heavy plant transport logistics
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and adapt to complex or changing load and route conditions
  • A proactive and flexible attitude with a strong commitment to health and safety
  • Knowledge of mechanical loading/unloading principles and trailer operation

Desirable, not essential:

  • CPCS loader securer
  • ADR with tanks

Main Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Safe operation of plant machinery to complete tasks.

  • Accurate completion of weekly timesheets.
  • Follow all company and site Health & Safety regulations.
  • Wear relevant PPE in the correct manner (this is provided).
  • Represent Collins and EnviroTrac to the highest standard.

  • Complete work to the required standards and on time.

Main Duties & Responsibilities 

  • To carry out the removal of all types of asbestos from both licensed and non-licensed asbestos removal projects.  
  • To carry out duties as requested by the supervisor and management team, in line with the risk, method statements, and HSE legislation.  

Requirements 

  • Candidates must be able to work efficiently within a team and be comfortable wearing asbestos PPE, including masks, for extended periods of time.

Asbestos Removals Supervisor

Due to continual growth, we’re seeking an experienced licensed Asbestos Removal
Supervisor to join a professional and respected asbestos removal company in Ripley,
Derbyshire.

Main Duties & Responsibilities 

  • To carry out the removal of all types of asbestos from both licensed and non-licensed asbestos removal projects.
  • To carry out duties in line with the risk, method statements, and HSE legislation.
  • To organise, supervise and work alongside asbestos removal operatives, ensuring works are being carried out as prescribed in the POW, to a high standard and in line with the programme.
  • To coordinate and communicate with other site operations to ensure the smooth running of all elements of work on site.
  • To carry out and record pre-use, daily & weekly inspections and checks, including RPE inspections and Plant, tools, and equipment checks.
  • To record inspections and keep detailed daily site records.
  • Communicate on a daily basis with the Contract Manager and Demolition Site Manager about any issues relating to the works on-site.
  • Carry out enclosure checks as the works progress and carry out Supervisor visual inspections upon completion of the removal works in advance of handing the enclosure over to the asbestos analyst.
  • Responsible for all plant, tools, and equipment. Making sure items are transported correctly to the site and then de-contaminated and transported correctly back to the stores or to the next site.
  • To assist in other site works and operations as and when required.

Requirements 

  • Ability to direct a team of asbestos removal operatives on site and complete work to
    the required standards and on time.
  • Good communication and organisational skills with the ability to work in a
    methodical and calm manner whilst under pressure.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Conscientious, presentable and punctual.
  • Self-motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic.
