A reputation you can rely upon
Collins Earthworks is part of a group of companies generating in excess of £180m per annum.
Our ethos has been striving for repeat business from our clients, promoting consistent good workmanship throughout.
The company was founded by David Collins, firstly as a sole trader, then registering Collins Contractors Plant Hire in 2000.
In 2006 our trading name was changed to Collins Earthworks. Based in Ripley, the company has worked throughout Great Britain. We have been fortunate to achieve an increased turnover through the years and established several affiliated companies.
Collins Earthworks has been managing major earthmoving and civil projects for over 20 years. Midlands-based, we provide a fast, flexible, reliable and professional service nationwide. We have a long-running success in meeting the demands of our customers providing bespoke solutions from consultation through to completion. We are constantly making investments in our fleet and staff.
As we endeavour to become a greener company our commitments to sustainable investments have become of vast importance to our future.
Having taken delivery of the UK’s first Volvo EC750E and EC950E excavators and L25 Electric wheeled loader. In May 2022 Collins Earthworks added two of the UK's first Hybrid Volvo EC300Es to its fleet of Hybrid & Fully Electric Machines. Featuring Volvo’s novel hydraulic-hybrid technology, these machines harvest energy generated by the downward movement of the boom to achieve 17% greater fuel efficiency over conventional models – with no trade-offs in controllability or performance.
Alongside hybrid machines, we have been running Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) fuel on a series of machines throughout our fleet since 2021 in line with Collins Earthworks' carbon reduction goals. HVO reduces net CO2 emissions by up to 90 per cent while maintaining the performance of diesel equivalent machines.
Alongside the above, our Recycling facility at Kirkby-in-Ashfield processes a variety of construction and demolition waste into certified aggregates suitable for a wide range of uses within the construction and landscaping industries.
