THE SAIL PROJECT - ROCHDALE
Client: WINVIC Construction

The contract was to carry out bulk excavations, ground stabilisation and supply aggregate for the construction of a warehouse footprint, lorry park and car parks.

Work commenced in early May 2010 creating an entrance into the site, compound and contractors car park. 19,500m3 of topsoil was stipped off the building and surrounding areas, stockpiled and then used around the site for soft landscaping. As works progressed, a borrow pit of 10,000m3 was excavated to bring the building footprint to the correct formation level.

Once all major excavations and fill areas were completed, our sister company EnviroTrac then produced a 300mm stone replacement layer across the total site of 115,000m2 keeping the importation
